4-Cylinder-Technology

Minimizing ram deflection with the multi-cylinder technology
+ Minimizing ram deflection with the multi-cylinder technology
TRUMPF relies here on the patented multi-cylinder technology that has been used successfully for numerous years in the TruBend series 3000. Theoretically, it would be ideal if there were an endlessly large number of cylinders distributed uniformly over the entire length of the ram. This would provide an ideal distribution of force with no deflection. Nevertheless, this is where we encounter the boundaries of technical feasibility.

TRUMPF has embarked on the physically correct way by supporting the ram at four positions with four cylinders. The deflection of the ram is consequently reduced considerably and bending part precision is increased. Instead of two voluminous cylinders there are now four small cylinders which permit a considerably flatter machine mode of construction and increase the bending space in front of the machine (flexibility). A minimum range of temperature is achieved by the cooling surface of all four cylinders. The possibility of the ram inclined position is safeguarded by the spherical positioning of the piston rods on all four cylinders.

Maximum bending space in front of the machine
+ Maximum bending space in front of the machine
More bending space due to the extremely flat covers.
