Operating principle
The machine comes to a halt if one of the two laser bands is interrupted by an obstacle. The bending process can be continued by pressing the foot switch again as soon as the obstacle has been removed.
Interference contours caused in the same way as for bending troughs and boxes are overcome in so-called nesting mode by deactivating the front and rear beams of the laser band. In this case the remaining laser beams ensure the operator safety. In the end, the part geometry neither curbs the safety nor the output of parts.
A clever solution which is also convincing regarding its handling: can be quickly installed and removed, since the transmitter and receiver are clamped into the side of the upper tool holder. In addition, the laser band uses the same reference areas as the tool, ensuring highest precision for vertical positioning.
Last but not least all programming functions and displays have been integrated in the machine control system, making a separate control unit superfluous.
TRUMPF BendGuard is available as an option for all TruBend Series 5000 and all TruBend Series 3000 press brakes.
Machines which have already been equipped with TRUMPF BendGuard with 120 mm/s can be retrofitted for the new system at any time.
