Visual Set-up and Positioning Aid

The visual set-up and positioning aid consists of a high number of LED’s (1mm increments) which are integrated in the cover of the top tool clamping system. These LED’s assist the machine operator with the tool set-up and at the station bending:

  • TOOL SET-UP: The visual set-up aid shows the position the tools have to be fixed in.
  • STATION BENDING: The visual positioning aid shows the station where the next bending has to be performed.

The visual set-up and positioning aid therefore provides the operator with a two-fold benefit:

  • In the TOOL SET-UP, the operator does not have to read the tooling position from the set-up plan on the machine-control and look for the corresponding position on the scaling. He merely positions the tooling as shown visually ð shorter set-up times and consequently higher machine productivity.
  • In STATION BENDING, the operator does not have to read the next bending station from the machine-control. He can immediately place the bending part at the bending station --> shorter cycle times and consequently higher machine productivity.
